A New Agent’s Perspective on the Inventory Insanity
As a busy new agent and being a mom of two with a second job, 2021 has had its challenges. In the real estate world, the most significant challenge is the lack of inventory.
Danielle Hale, Chief Economist for Realtor.com, reported that there were still half as many homes for sale in early April of 2021 compared to last year. Although reports show hope on the horizon as we move towards the summer months, with an increase in sellers and new listings, I still find myself exhausted when trying to find the perfect home for my wonderful clients.
As a new agent, I am constantly reading and researching new trends in the market and came across Jim Dalrymple’s article, “Inventory insanity: What it's like being a homebuyer when there are no homes to buy.” This article really helped me understand that I am not alone and that all agents are facing the same challenges in trying to find clients their ideal homes in a market with low inventory and intense bidding wars.
Although at times it can be difficult, it is beyond rewarding when I am able to find the perfect home for my clients through hard work, careful consideration, and a little bit of creativity!
To all other agents out there, keep your head up!
